Course Description

Working with a variety of media, we will experiment with both realistic and observational pieces along with more abstract and geometric work, learning to differentiate between the two. In the process, students will learn about line, composition, perspective, value, and color relationships, and will experiment with the meaning of foreground, middle ground, and background. By looking at and sharing work with others, we will reflect upon the art-making process and gain the ability to assess one’s own process and progress along the way.
